V Festival: Scissor Sisters are first headliners for festival

The first band for the V Festival 2005 has been announced and its a return for the Scissor Sisters

The New York group went down a storm at last year's V Festival and organisers have confirmed they will headline at the event being held in Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire.

Organisers are hopeful the group will preview some of their new material at the festival on Saturday 20th August and Sunday 21st August 2005.

Festival Director Bob Angus said: "Their performance on the NME stage at last year's festival is hailed as pivotal to this breakthrough and we wish them the best of luck for the BRITS.

"They continually receive rave reviews for their releases and we can't wait to be blown away by another live performance again this year.

"In the coming weeks we plan to unveil a phenomenal joint headline act, who, with the Scissor Sisters, will make it one of our best line ups yet - worthy of our 10th anniversary status!"
