Essex: Over-60s win the right to a free ride

From the archive, first published Wednesday 15th Feb 2006.

FREE bus travel will be available for all over-60s as part of an Essex-wide scheme from the beginning of April.

Councils across the county have signed up to the agreement, which is an extension of the current Essex Travelpass scheme.

At the moment, bus passes entitle over-60s to only half-price travel.
