Mid-Essex: Fury at dental scheme

Doctors and dentists have united to condemn proposals which could see midweek out-of-hours dental care withdrawn in mid-Essex.

They are outraged by the plan, which they say is "a gross dereliction of their statutory duty".

But after their comments in a press statement, a spokeswoman for the Witham, Braintree and Halstead Care Trust said the issue was now under review.

It was hoped a decision on the future of the service would be made by the Mid Essex Dental Forum within a week.
