Football: Revell ready to stay

From the archive, first published Wednesday 11th Apr 2007.

Glen Revell has pledged to stay at Witham Town this season - as long as they club preserve their status in Ryman League division one north.

Revell is a key player for Witham and has returned to Spa Road following a brief and unhappy spell at Ridgeons League premier division club, Diss Town.

Two defeats over the Easter period, coupled with an upturn in form for both Ilford and Flackwell Heath, who lie immediately below Town in the table, have left them looking nervously over their shoulders, with three games left to play.

But ahead of the tough trip to play Enfield Town on Saturday, Revell feels his side can still avoid the drop and start building for next season.

He said: "We've still got a good chance of staying up.

"I'll stay at Witham next season - as long as we stay in this division."
