A HOMELESS man was treated for smoke inhalation after his tent went up in flames.
The man, thought to be in his 50s, awoke on Jaywick beach to find his tent had caught fire.
Clacton firefighters believe the fire started from a discarded cigarette.
They were called to the seafront on Wednesday at 3.30pm.
The man had crawled out of the tent when the crews arrived but was still nearby.
He was treated by ambulance crews for smoke inhalation.
