Here's what happened when Garlic bred...

From the archive, first published Thursday 12th Apr 2007.

A BAWDY billy goat called Garlic has sired yet another kid at a rare breeds centre after taking a shine to a doe-eyed lass.

Garlic the bagot goat has had something to do with most of the kids born at the Salvation Army farm centre in Hadleigh.

He has now fallen for the gentle features of a sweet-natured golden Guernsey goat called Jasmine.

The arrival looks so much like a deer, manager Simon Gibson called her Fawn.

Since her arrival a week ago, Fawn has proved a star attraction at the centre.

Mr Gibson said: "We couldn't believe how much like a deer she looked so there was only one name for her."

The farm, in Castle Lane, is open for the rest of the Easter holiday, at weekends throughout the rest of April and every day in May.

Opening times are from 10.30am to 4.30pm and entrance costs £1.50. Children under 36-months can enter free of charge.
