SEVEN organisations are set to have their request for council funding turned down.
Rochford District Council will this month be deciding which voluntary groups to give grants to.
Officers are recommending seven of the applications are refused because they do not meet council criteria.
One of these is Friends of Kendal Park, which asked for £700 for a new leaflet on the park.
Officers said there was already a leaflet and there would be little benefit for the wider community.
Falcons Sonozon Judo Club wanted £7,941 towards hall hire, new equipment and competitions abroad.
Officers pointed out there were more suitable funding sources for this and only 22 people a week used the club.
The other organisations include:
* Historical Society of Rayleigh which asked for £205
* Mayday Mobile requested £2,500
* Canewdon Summer Play-scheme wanted £1,000
* Vitalise needed £1,108
* Victim Support for Essex asked for £5,000.
