Help! I'm looking for my 11 half-brothers

From the archive, first published Friday 13th Apr 2007.

A WOMAN is on the hunt for at least 11 half-brothers.

Teresa Lawrence, 39, is the eldest daughter of Charlie Wheeler, 57, and believes three of her half-brothers are living in south Essex.

She said: "I have so many unknown relatives it feels like I have unfinished business by not knowing them.

"I feel I need to contact them because, until I do, there's a feeling of loss.

"My father was born on February 16, 1950 and his full name is Charles Terence John Wheeler, but he was known as Charlie and he was a steel fixer."

Single-mum Teresa, who is still in touch with her sister Tracy, 36, who lives in Southampton, last met her dad when she was 21 - long after he left the family home in Plaistow.

Teresa, who has two children Martyn, 16, and Lauren, 13, said her dad fathered 13 children as far as she knows. She was told by her mum at least three half-brothers live locally.

Teresa, of Abbotts Drive, Stanford-le-Hope, said: "I believe two live in Basildon. Their mother is called Carol and their names are Deacon Lee and Paul John and they are both in their early thirties.

"Another lives in Laindon area. His mother is Linda and his name is John Paul and he is about 26. I think all the boys have the surname Wheeler.

"If they do not want to contact me directly, they could just send a couple of photos and a letter saying what they do and how their own life has panned out.

"I would just love to hear from them."

If she is successful Teresa will then search for the other eight half-brothers, four of whom she believes may still live around Bournemouth.

However, she has no desire to meet up with her dad again. He is believed to be living in Milton Keynes with his latest partner.
