Teenage mum charged with baby murder

A TEENAGER has been charged with murdering her own hours-old baby.

The girl, who was 15 at the time, was arrested by police after they were called to a house in Thurrock by paramedics.

Ambulance crews were called to the undisclosed address following the death of a newborn baby on Tuesday, September 26 last year.

advertisementA post-mortem carried out at a London hospital found head injuries to be the provisional cause of the tot's death.

The 15-year-old girl was charged with murder on Friday after she returned to Grays police station to answer bail.

She will appear at Grays youth court on Thursday, April 26.
