Improve the borough for residents

From the archive, first published Tuesday 24th Apr 2007.

RESIDENTS and voluntary workers are invited to a meeting next week to help shape a new borough-wide improvement programme.

Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services has arranged the discussion for Monday, April 30, to encourage ideas for inclusion in the draft Sustainable Community Strategy.

The document is being compiled by Castle Point Local Strategic Partnership, of which CAVS is a member, and is currently out for consultation.

The aim of the strategy is to create a better place to live and work, and contains nine ambitions including education, regeneration, environment, recreation, health, safety, transport, community spirit and housing.

The meeting will take place at 2pm at Little Havens Children's Hospice, Daws Heath Road, Thundersley.

Call 01268 638416 to reserve a space.

The draft Sustainable Community Strategy is available to download from www.castlepoint.gov.uk Comments on the draft document must be made by May 4.
