£20,000 worth of Headway

From the archive, first published Tuesday 24th Apr 2007.

A BRAIN injury charity is £20,000 better off, thinks to an event organised by a Basildon company.

Headway Essex benefited from a charity dinner organised by developer Redrow Homes.

Donations on the night, a raffle and an auction of Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and West Ham football memorabilia helped boost the total.

George Cronin, managing director, said: "A family member of one of our staff has benefited from Headway's work and that is why we chose to help."

The money will fund the group's work and buy a new minibus.
