THE landmark Orsett Cock pub has reopened following a fire in January.

It has had a full makeover and the new management is confident the public will love it.

Marketing director Karen Davies said: "The pub has been refurbished. Customers have already been stunned by the difference."

The bar area has benefited from a total refit with new flooring, seating and open plan look.

New licensee, Graham Curtis-Thomas said: "The area where we used to have bands has been redesigned as our new restaurant. We have seating for around 100 people.

"I have been in the catering business for over 20 years and can guarantee customers a great culinary experience in a friendly environment."

The refurbishment has extended to the outside area as well.

Karen said: "We have revamped the beer garden as part of our makeover. It's important that the pub projects a real family feel."
