Magic brush play is a hit

A THORPE Bay school has picked up several awards for one of its drama productions.

Thorpe Hall School's lower school won first prize for best overall production at the ISA National Drama Festival in Ascot with the Legend of the Golden Paintbrush.

Louisa Banks, ten, won the best individual performance award.

The drama also won best junior production for 18 years and under at the Southend Arts Council Drama Festival at the Eastwood Theatre recently, even beating adult drama groups to the award for best overall production. Vivienne Cunningham, who produced and directed the play, was named best director.
