Nightmare neighbour given 10-year Asbo

From the archive, first published Friday 27th Apr 2007.

A MUSIC teacher has been slapped with a ten-year anti-social behaviour order for heaping misery on his neighbours.

Dominic McGrath's Asbo bans him from whistling, humming or singing derisory tunes and waving toilet rolls at his neighbours, displaying a balaclava in his window and even parking in his own street.

McGrath, 59, of Melville Drive, Wickford, was sentenced at Basildon Magistrates Court after being found guilty at an earlier trial of conducting an 18-month hate campaign.

When chairman of bench, Alan Payne, announced the ASBO around ten neighbours in the public gallery let out a loud cheer.
