TWO youngsters proved they were a cup above the rest after being selected to represent Great Britain in an unusual sport.
Katie Binder, and Samantha Izod, both 11, and pupils at Heycroft Primary School, Eastwood, travelled to America to take part in the world speed stacking championships.
Stacking is a craze which has taken the United States by storm. Contestants take identical cups and stack them in different formations as quickly as possible.
It has become so popular the world championships, held in Denver earlier this month, were broadcast on several national TV networks. Eight students from across the country took part in the competition as part of team Great Britain.
Tim Goddard, a teacher at Heycroft said: "The girls had a fantastic time and Samantha came ninth in her age group's competition."
