Woman falls in street

Bocking End was blocked off last night causing traffic tailbacks, after an elderly woman fell in the road.

The woman was thought to have fallen outside Argos at around 6.30pm on Thursday and an ambulance was called. The ambulance team called in police assistance to close the road while she was moved from the scene.

A spokesman for Essex police said that it was being treated as a fall in the road and that no vehicle was involved.

The woman was taken to the Broomfield Hospital.
